Not to stir anything up, but where is everyone? This used to be a pretty active board.

I am here. I just returned from Germany. Had a blast--met some great contacts and now I am ready to get some more shooting done.
Good Luck

If you don't mind my asking, Nigel, what exactly do you do? Freelance photographer? DP?

I am a DP/Cinematographer. I also AC whenever people need/want me. I was in Germany for the Berlin Film Festival but I never made to the Fest. I met a some contacts and we hung out and talked. So now I will have wait and see if they come through.

Nigel, I have a couple questions for ya.
1. What format(s) do you usually end up shooting in for the gigs you get?
2. How long did it take you to get to where you could DP full time? (if indeed that's your full-time gig)
Thanks!

I shoot mostly 35mm and Super16 for the paying jobs. Sometimes some Super8. That is mostly for my personal stuff. I still am working at shooting full time. I am getting close if all goes as planned that could be within a year. It has taken about three years. I think the best thing I did was avoid LA. That allowed me to keep my rates higher than I could have charged there.
Good Luck

Hey Adam
Been busy at working and starting a new hobby. Restoring a 56 Chevy...if I'm gonna live in Los Angeles I might as well have a bit of fun too.
Still shooting plenty of super 8, and finishing up a sales presentation for my latest script.
Take care my friend,
Scott
